An Artist's Bedroom
This week I designed a bedroom for friend who is an artist. He likes painting a lot. Though he has a studio in his house he still sleeps with some of his works around him. Before starting this design I did a little research and analysed some few bedroom designs done by others on the internet.
In this design every element counted. This is due to the creative nature of the client. However care was taken not to either over design or under design. lol.
A lot of effort was made to make the bedroom as relaxing as possible. In other to reduce stress and inspire him to dive more into his creative adventure, floor to ceiling windows have been used to provide clear views to the wonderful exterior gardens and streets of the magnificent Airport Hills Estate.
Horizontal elements (wooded batten, choice of furniture and floor finish and ceiling design) have been intensely used in this interior as they provide a more relaxed, calm and comfortable setting which is good for this particular scheme- due to the stressful live of the client. To prevent the room from being so calm and cozy some vertical elements and colours (like the hanging lamps, rug colour and textured back wall) have been provided to add a some excitement. Different lights with varying intensity and usage have been provided to create different moods.
A blank wall surface has been created (with a painting already on it) in between the windows to serve as a canvas for him and also to inspire him every morning.
I am working on the total cost of this interior space.
