With Jesus Christ the Storm is Over

Spiritual Significance of the Storm /Wind
•Used by God to do his biding
•Agent of destruction by God- drowning the soldiers of the Egyptians
•Deperate speech (Job 7:7)
•Transient things
•Troubles and adversities in life Proverbs 11:29
•Fear, panic and disturbances Isaiah 1:15
•Scattering of things (Jeremiah 18:17)
•Drying up of things (Ezekiel 17:10)
Purpose of the Storm on the Lake
• To stop Jesus and his disciples from reaching the other site of the Lake. Storms are stoppers of journey.
•To stop Jesus from bringing deliverance to the demon possessed man on the other side of the Lake
•to test the faith and patience of the disciplines
•It was to destroy them by drowning them
•It was to frighten them
•For Jesus to demonstrate his power over nature and challenges that confront His children
Things Jesus did in the storm
•He slept in the raging storm. He didn't worry or run for cover.
• He was calm in the midst of the storm.
•To calm the storm
• When he spoke there was immediate calmness
The Rection of the disciples to Jesus and the Storm
•He was present with them in the boat. Indicating his presence in times of trouble and need.
•His presence did not stop the storms from affecting them
•While the disciples saw danger, Jesus saw safety around them. Don't try to over magnify your situation
•They didn't know and understand the command of the man the were following.
•they called on Jesus for help and He responded immediately
•Jesus was displeased
Your Reactionto the Storms of Life
•Be assured that Christ has called you and will be with you
•He is with you both in and out of the storm
•Speak the word and all be calm
•Do not exhibit fear in the face of challenges but rather faith
•Be calm in the mist of the storm.
•Call on Jesus and he will come to your aid
