Black Label
Black Label is the name my husband and I have given to our dining table. As the name implies its black; from top to bottom. Even the glass on top of it is tinted black. It takes 6 chairs. But we currently have 4; incremental growth hahaha!!. Black Label serves a lot of purposes in our black and grey living room. We use it to study, eat, watch TV, play video games, PP's, monitor the kitchen (because it is positioned right opposite the kitchen door; just 6m away).
The number of activities Black Label facilitates on and around it is a lot. Infact I am rooting for it to get the Discovery of the Year (this is when my husband and I choose the most useful item in the house and award the person who brought it) in my home, this year.
However Black Label is always a mess. We turn to put anything and I mean anything on it. Mostly the top of Black Label is so disorganized, with things like water bottle, table mats, tissues, chargers, medicine, air refresher, books, tablet, phones, laptop etc.
The position of Black Label in home is very critical as its basically the first furniture a visitor or a thief sees the moment he or she enters. Therefore we can't afford to make it look unkempt; well its mostly untidy in the evening and at dawn. During the day we do our best to make him look decent and tidy as much as possible. But I must admit its very difficult.
I tried to check online to see if there is a way I can make Black Label look neat and tidy all the time. I found many interesting tips. I know most homes are struggling with this issue too; especially when kids are around. I hope these tips will help you to make your Black Label look tidy all the time.
Hmmm the Chipmunks (kids) oooh, I wonder how well and long you can sustain the first 2 with them at home. But I believe the basket will do the trick. Just make sure there are no breakables.
Yes, the two layer trick. You can hide the sugar, fruits, milk drugs etc on the bottom layer. Like the first 2, the kids. But it works better if the top is tinted.
Innovation and Creativity! Customized dining table, where you can properly hide everything. Built-in drawers, shelves, push and pull mechanisms etc does the trick. But mind you it can look bulky and loose its sleekness.
The multipurpose dining table is the bomb (to me). Play and hide everything when you hear a knock... Lol.
The best thing is to get lockers, drawers or shelves in your living area where you can neatly hide or display your items well. The dining table becomes very useful in the living area when its close to the TV. People would like to eat, learn, read, draw, colour etc whiles watching TV. Its therefore mostly inevitable to kept it tidy all the time. But lets see how the tips can help us improve the tidiness of our dining table.
Great project idea
